Alex Payne - Director

Alex is a versatile Mechanical Engineer and operational Director, highly skilled in the full lifecycle of specify, procure, install, commission and operate complex and safety-critical amusement park rides and devices.He has worked in the Leisure Park industry, responsible for high hazard equipment, for over 30 years and held the position of Technical Director for Blackpool Pleasure Beach (BPB) for 15 years.

Alex is a past and present contributor to numerous representative safety bodies such as the BALPPA Safety Committee, the EMEA Safety Sub-Committee of IAAPA and the HSE’s Joint Advisory Committee (FJAC). He has been a regular industry presenter, domestically and internationally, and is a trusted source of expert safety and technical assistance for members of BALPPA and IAAPA.

Alex has regularly been invited to represent his industry in domestic and international media and has appeared on TV and Radio, including programmes as diverse as Blue Peter, Antiques Roadtrip and Coast, in addition to numerous documentaries and news reports shown domestically and internationally.
